CORE PURPOSE
We are seeking an articulate, academically rigorous, and passionate Psychology Teacher to deliver outstanding Key Stage 5 A-Level Psychology. Working within an established Social Sciences faculty, the successful candidate will engage post-16 students in empirical research methods, cognitive psychology, psychopathology, and social influence, fostering critical analytical thinking and preparing pupils for top-tier university degree programs.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
A-Level Curriculum Delivery: Plan and teach dynamic theoretical and practical Psychology lessons across Key Stage 5 (AQA A-Level specification), covering core modules such as memory, biopsychology, attachment, and research methods.
Empirical & Statistical Training: Guide students through psychological research design, quantitative and qualitative data collection, and statistical analysis.
Academic Extension & Mentorship: Prepare pupils for university admissions, mentor candidates targeting competitive Psychology and Neuroscience degree courses, and supervise Extended Project Qualifications (EPQs).
Assessment & Moderation: Systematically evaluate student progress through essay marking, mock examinations, and structured feedback, maintaining high standards of academic attainment.
Pastoral & College Life: Act as a dedicated Sixth Form Form Tutor, supporting students with academic mentoring, personal wellbeing, and UCAS/university applications within the college community.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS with a degree in Psychology or a closely related social science discipline. Confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced post-16 practitioners are equally encouraged to apply.
Experience: Proven experience teaching Psychology at A-Level within a secondary school, sixth form, or college setting.
Skills: High-level subject expertise across core A-Level psychology modules, strong understanding of behavioural statistics, excellent academic essay moderation skills, and the ability to stretch high-achieving pupils.
