Daily Supply Maths Teacher | Multiple Secondary Schools Across Birmingham
CORE PURPOSE
We are seeking adaptable, analytical, and proactive Daily Supply Maths Teachers to deliver engaging cover lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. Working across a wide network of secondary educational settings in Birmingham, the successful candidate will step into pre-set lesson plans smoothly, deliver clear mathematical instruction, and maintain an organized, focused learning environment on a flexible daily basis.
THE SECTOR & SETTINGS
This flexible role offers daily teaching assignments across a diverse range of secondary settings throughout the city of Birmingham—including comprehensive secondary schools, sixth form colleges, specialist STEM academies, and local academy trusts. Supply teachers benefit from clearly defined cover plans from mathematics departments, well-resourced classrooms equipped with interactive displays, and varied teaching environments tailored to their preferred travel radius and availability.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Maths Cover Delivery: Teach pre-planned mathematics lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5, delivering numerical, algebraic, geometric, and statistical concepts clearly and accurately.
Classroom & Behaviour Management: Apply individual school behaviour policies consistently to maintain a respectful, safe, and productive working atmosphere in the classroom.
Marking & Handover: Collect student work at the end of each period, mark completed tasks where required, and leave clear handover notes for returning mathematics staff.
Differentiated Academic Support: Assist pupils of varying mathematical abilities with set tasks, supporting those needing foundational help while challenging higher-attaining students.
Safeguarding & Student Welfare: Uphold strict child protection and safeguarding standards across every school visit, escalating any welfare concerns promptly through established channels.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or recognized secondary teaching credentials with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Open to secondary specialists, experienced teachers, and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) seeking flexible schedules.
Experience: Proven experience teaching or providing daily cover in Mathematics across secondary key stages within UK secondary schools, academies, or colleges.
Skills: Strong mathematical subject knowledge, excellent classroom presence, clear explanation skills, and the confidence to manage diverse classroom dynamics effectively.
