The successful candidate will be an engaging classroom practitioner who can combine strong subject knowledge with practical teaching and clear explanations.
You will teach students across the secondary age range, helping them develop secure foundations in scientific knowledge before progressing towards GCSE Chemistry. The role may also include A-Level Chemistry for an experienced candidate.
The school is looking for someone who can make Chemistry accessible and interesting while maintaining the academic challenge expected of secondary students. Practical work, problem-solving and scientific enquiry will form an important part of your teaching.
You will join an established Science department where colleagues work together to support student achievement and share effective teaching strategies.

Chemistry Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
A degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject.
QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Chemistry or Science at secondary level.
Strong Chemistry subject knowledge.
Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Science.
GCSE Chemistry teaching experience.
A-Level Chemistry experience would be advantageous.
Confidence delivering practical experiments.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
Ability to adapt teaching to different levels of ability.
Strong assessment and feedback skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
High expectations of student achievement and behaviour.

ECTs with a Chemistry specialism and strong subject knowledge are welcome to apply.
Salary
The salary for this Chemistry Teacher position will be paid to scale at MPS1 - UPS3, depending on experience and qualifications.
