This role would suit a teacher who enjoys creating lessons where students can explore beliefs, ethics, philosophy and contemporary issues in a thoughtful and respectful environment.
You will be expected to deliver engaging lessons that encourage students to consider different viewpoints, develop their reasoning skills and communicate their ideas clearly. The school is looking for someone who can maintain academic rigour while creating a classroom atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and discussing complex subjects.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues within the Humanities department and will have the opportunity to contribute to curriculum development and wider school life.

Religious Education Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject.
QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching RE at secondary level.
Experience teaching KS3 and KS4.
GCSE Religious Studies experience.
Strong knowledge of religious, philosophical and ethical issues.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong classroom management.
Ability to facilitate respectful and purposeful discussion.
Ability to differentiate for different abilities.
Strong planning and organisational skills.
Commitment to high standards of student achievement.
Ability to provide effective assessment and feedback.
Commitment to inclusion and student wellbeing.
Commitment to safeguarding.
ECTs with strong subject knowledge and a genuine interest in RE are encouraged to apply.
Salary
The salary for this Religious Education Teacher position will be paid to scale at MPS1 - UPS3, depending on experience and qualifications.
