A prestigious secondary school in Oxford is seeking an articulate, highly organized Admissions Officer to manage all student entry pathways, open events, and enrolment processes for a September start.
Job Overview
As Admissions Officer, you will serve as the primary brand ambassador and administrative coordinator for all prospective families, applicants, and local primary feeder schools. You will oversee the end-to-end admissions process for Key Stage 3 entry (Year 7 intake), mid-year in-year transfers, and Sixth Form entry, ensuring strict adherence to the national School Admissions Code.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the administrative lifecycle of applicant inquiries, application processing, entrance testing, and place allocations
Maintain accurate student registration records and waiting lists on school database systems (SIMS/Arbor)
Coordinate and host prospective parent open evenings, campus tour days, and Sixth Form induction events
Liaise with Local Authority Admissions Teams regarding coordinated scheme allocations, appeals, and fair access protocols
Provide warm, professional customer service via telephone, email, and face-to-face consultations with prospective families
Draft official offer letters, entry documentation packs, and admissions statistical reports for the Headteacher and Governors

Knowledge of statutory school admissions codes, catchment rules, and appeal procedures (advantageous)
Active enhanced DBS check
