A well-established Secondary School in Milton Keynes is looking to appoint an experienced and highly organised Data Manager to join its busy school administration and leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills and experience working with school data who wants to take ownership of systems that directly support student progress, attendance and school improvement.
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Department, pastoral leaders and teaching staff, ensuring that school information is accurate, up to date and presented in a way that allows leaders to make informed decisions. The role is varied and involves managing the school's Management Information System, producing reports, supporting assessment cycles and ensuring statutory data requirements are completed accurately.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working with large amounts of information, meeting firm deadlines and communicating clearly with colleagues across the school. You will also be expected to identify ways in which existing processes can be made more efficient, helping the school make better use of its data.

Data Team
The Data Team provides essential information to senior leaders, teaching staff and pastoral teams. Accurate data is used to monitor attainment, progress, attendance and intervention, making this a particularly important role within the wider school operation.
You will take responsibility for ensuring that information is entered correctly, reports are produced on time and colleagues receive the data they need when they need it.
Responsibilities
Managing and maintaining the school's Management Information System.
Ensuring pupil records are accurate and regularly updated.
Producing reports on attainment, progress and attendance.
Supporting assessment and reporting cycles.
Preparing data for Senior Leadership Team meetings.
Producing reports for governors and school improvement planning.
Supporting statutory census returns.
Monitoring the quality and accuracy of school data.
Supporting staff with MIS and data-related queries.
Creating spreadsheets and reporting templates.
Analysing trends across year groups and subjects.
Supporting intervention tracking and monitoring.
Managing appropriate system access and permissions.
Ensuring confidential information is handled securely.
Supporting improvements to existing data processes.
Requirements
Previous experience in a Data Manager, School Data Officer or similar role.
Experience working with a school Management Information System.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent numerical and analytical ability.
High level of attention to detail.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
