The successful candidate will teach engaging Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Combined & Separate Science), with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (A-Level) for a suitably qualified specialist.
Working closely with the Science department, you will prepare students for high-level examination performance while fostering a genuine curiosity about the natural world. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to an innovative, organized, and proactive educator.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality practical and theoretical Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Combined & Triple Science)
Plan, resource, and execute safe laboratory experiments in full compliance with CLEAPSS guidelines
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, preparing Key Stage 4 students for GCSE examination success
Contribute to STEM enrichment initiatives, including science clubs, robotics teams, and national science competitions
Serve as a Form Tutor, contributing to pastoral care, tracking, and student wellbeing
Maintain high standards of lab safety, risk assessment, and equipment management in collaboration with laboratory technicians
Collaborate with department colleagues to refine schemes of work and practical assessment resources

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
Honors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related scientific discipline
Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong GCSE Science outcomes
Strong practical skills and up-to-date knowledge of laboratory safety protocols
Superb classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
