Job Overview
Psychology is one of the most popular A-Level options at this school. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, intellectually stimulating Psychology instruction across Key Stage 5 (A-Level), with opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 4 introductory Social Science modules.
Working alongside experienced Social Science colleagues, you will teach core theoretical units including memory, attachment, psychopathology, social influence, biopsychology, and research methods. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for a practitioner dedicated to Sixth Form academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Teach high-impact A-Level Psychology lessons in line with exam board specifications (AQA/OCR)
Develop students' scientific inquiry, statistical analysis, empirical research evaluation, and structured essay writing
Monitor, track, and assess student performance to ensure high attainment in external A-Level examinations
Mentor Sixth Form pupils preparing university applications for Psychology, Neuroscience, and Cognitive Science degrees
Lead co-curricular activities, such as Mind & Brain societies, journal discussion clubs, and guest speaker events
Serve as a Sixth Form Tutor, delivering pastoral support, academic tracking, and high-level UCAS references
Collaborate with faculty members to continuously enhance digital learning resources and revision workshops

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)

Exceptional understanding of psychological research methodologies, statistical analysis, and theoretical critique
Superb classroom management and Sixth Form academic mentoring skills
