Job Overview
Psychology and Criminology are two of the fastest-growing subjects at this school. You will deliver engaging modules across Key Stage 5 (A-Level Psychology and WJEC Level 3 Applied Diploma in Criminology), with potential introductory modules at Key Stage 4.
Working closely with Social Science colleagues, you will teach key theoretical areas, including memory, attachment, psychopathology, research methods, crime scene investigations, law enforcement frameworks, and criminological theories. This is a full-time, permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
Teach high-impact A-Level Psychology and Level 3 Criminology lessons across Key Stage 5
Equip students with scientific inquiry, empirical evaluation, controlled assessment execution, and structured essay writing
Mentor Sixth Form pupils applying for competitive university courses in Psychology, Criminology, Law, and Forensic Science
Contribute to departmental debate societies, guest speaker events, and mock trial competitions
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, preparing examination classes for high-level A-Level and Diploma attainment
Fulfill pastoral duties as a Sixth Form Tutor, supporting UCAS references and personal development

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT / QTLS)

Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong A-Level Psychology and/or Level 3 Criminology outcomes
Superb classroom management, essay mentoring, and interpersonal communication skills
