Role: Teacher of Religious Education (KS3–KS5)
Location: Norwich, Norfolk
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: September 2026
School Type: Church secondary school
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
A church secondary school in Norwich is looking for a Religious Education Teacher to join its humanities faculty on a permanent full-time basis.
The role involves teaching students about Christianity and a range of other religious and non-religious worldviews, alongside philosophical and ethical questions. You will encourage respectful discussion, develop students' written evaluation and support GCSE and post-16 examination groups where required.
The school is looking for someone who can create thoughtful lessons without making difficult questions inaccessible. Current affairs, moral dilemmas, philosophy and real-life case studies can all be used to encourage students to form reasoned views.
A relevant degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or a related discipline is desirable, as is examination-class experience.
The faculty provides a supportive environment in which teachers are encouraged to contribute ideas and wider enrichment.
If you enjoy helping young people engage seriously with questions about belief, values and society, this Norwich RE vacancy could be an excellent opportunity.
