We’re currently working with a well-established secondary school in Haringey that is looking to appoint a Pastoral Support Officer to join its student support team.
The role would suit someone with experience working with young people who can build relationships quickly, remain calm in challenging situations and work closely with teaching staff and families.
The Role
You’ll be part of the school’s pastoral team, helping students overcome barriers to learning and make the most of their time in school.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing day-to-day pastoral support to students
Monitoring attendance, punctuality and behaviour
Building positive relationships with students
Supporting students who may be experiencing difficulties
Working with teachers and senior staff to address concerns
Communicating with parents and carers where appropriate
Helping students develop positive routines and attitudes towards school
Supporting behaviour and attendance interventions
Maintaining accurate records and student information
Following safeguarding procedures and school policies
Who We're Looking For
The school is looking for someone who is approachable, resilient and confident working with teenagers.
Previous experience within a school, youth work, pastoral care or a similar setting would be beneficial. You’ll need good communication skills and the ability to remain professional when dealing with sensitive or challenging situations.
