A prestigious coastal secondary school in Cornwall is seeking a versatile and passionate Business & Economics Teacher to join its successful Social Sciences department for a permanent January start.
Job Overview
With a rapidly growing Sixth Form, this school seeks a skilled practitioner to teach Business Studies and Economics across Key Stage 4 (GCSE/BTEC) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level). The successful candidate will play a central role in connecting economic theory and corporate strategy to real-world global markets.
Working closely with the Social Sciences faculty, you will design and deliver a dynamic curriculum covering microeconomics, macroeconomics, marketing, financial management, and enterprise. This is a full-time, permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality GCSE and A-Level Business Studies and Economics lessons
Plan, resource, and execute lessons that foster analytical thinking, financial literacy, and market evaluation
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, preparing Sixth Form students for high-level examination success
Lead extra-curricular enrichment initiatives, such as Young Enterprise teams and economics debate clubs
Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and promote an ambitious, commercially aware environment

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
Honors degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a closely related discipline
Proven track record (or clear potential during training) of delivering strong GCSE and A-Level outcomes
Superb subject knowledge and the ability to stretch academically ambitious Sixth Form pupils
