Data Manager | High Performing Secondary School | Manchester
We’re currently working with a high-performing secondary school in Manchester that is looking to appoint an experienced Data Manager to join their support team.
This is a key position within the school, working closely with senior leaders and teaching staff to make sure student information is accurate, up to date and available when it’s needed. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the school’s data systems and support areas including assessment, reporting, timetabling and statutory returns.
The role would suit someone who already has experience working with school data and is confident managing systems, spreadsheets and large amounts of information.
The Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Managing and maintaining the school's MIS and student records
Coordinating assessment and reporting data throughout the academic year
Producing reports and analysis for senior leaders and teaching staff
Managing data collection deadlines and ensuring information is accurate
Supporting examination and curriculum data
Assisting with timetabling and option information
Preparing information for statutory returns and census submissions
Responding to data queries from staff and resolving any issues
Identifying ways to improve existing data processes
Supporting staff with the effective use of school data systems
Ensuring all information is handled accurately and confidentially
What We're Looking For
The school would ideally like to hear from candidates with previous experience as a Data Manager within a secondary school.
You'll need to be highly organised, confident working with data and comfortable managing competing deadlines. Strong Excel skills are important, as is experience using a school MIS such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or a similar system.
You should also be able to communicate clearly with colleagues and explain data in a straightforward way.
