A well-established independent school in Barnet is looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher from October Half Term 2026.
This is a great opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about music and enjoys creating a positive, engaging environment where students are encouraged to develop both their confidence and musical ability. The successful candidate will teach across KS3–KS5 and become part of a supportive department with a strong commitment to academic and personal development.
A Role With Plenty of Scope
You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality Music lessons across a range of year groups, helping students develop their understanding, technical ability and appreciation of the subject.
The role will include:
Teaching Music across KS3–KS5
Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons
Preparing students for GCSE and A Level Music where required
Developing students' practical, theoretical and analytical skills
Monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback
Contributing ideas to the continued development of the Music curriculum
Supporting concerts, performances, ensembles and wider musical activities
Working closely with colleagues to provide a broad and engaging Music provision
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a qualified Music Teacher with strong subject knowledge and the enthusiasm to inspire students both inside and outside the classroom.
You could be an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or a strong ECT ready to take the next step in your career. Most importantly, you'll be confident in your subject, have high expectations and be able to build positive relationships with students.
Experience teaching through KS5 would be particularly useful, although applications from strong secondary Music teachers are welcome.
