The Role

• Teaching: Deliver engaging English lessons across KS3–KS5, covering literature, language, creative writing, and analytical skills.
• Developing Writers: Help students become confident and articulate writers through structured and imaginative activities.
• Literary Exploration: Introduce students to a broad range of novels, poetry, drama, and non-fiction.
• Exam Preparation: Prepare students effectively for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
• Differentiation: Adapt teaching to support students with different abilities and learning needs.
• Wider Opportunities: Contribute to reading clubs, literary events, competitions, and enrichment activities.
• Positive Classroom Culture: Create a classroom where students feel confident sharing ideas and opinions.

The Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching experience.
• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Able to inspire students with a genuine enthusiasm for English.
• Confident supporting both high-achieving and less confident learners.
• Creative, organised, and committed to student progress.
