The Role

As a Teacher of Religious Studies, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage pupils to explore religion, philosophy, ethics and contemporary issues.

You will teach across Key Stages 3, 4 and potentially 5, helping students develop strong knowledge, critical thinking and the ability to construct balanced and well-informed arguments. You will encourage pupils to question ideas, consider different perspectives and engage confidently with complex issues.

You will also have opportunities to contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, debates, educational visits and cross-curricular initiatives.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has a degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or a closely related subject.

• Has experience teaching Religious Studies at GCSE and/or A-Level, or strong subject knowledge to do so.

• Delivers engaging, well-structured lessons that challenge and inspire pupils.

• Encourages thoughtful discussion, critical analysis and independent thinking.

• Builds positive relationships and creates an inclusive classroom environment.

• Is organised, enthusiastic and committed to continuous professional development.

• Enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to the wider school community.

• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

• Has the legal right to work in the UK.
