Role Overview

As a specialist Psychology Supply Teacher, you will step into pre-planned Psychology lessons across various secondary and Sixth Form settings in Oxford. Oxford schools particularly value subject-specialist supply educators who can guide Sixth Form students through complex psychological theories, evaluate research methodologies, and maintain high academic standards during short-term cover periods.

This position offers complete flexibility: choose to work anywhere from 1 to 5 days per week with zero lesson planning, marking, or UCAS reference obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-set Psychology lessons across Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level)

• Assist students with key core units including Social Influence, Memory, Attachment, Psychopathology, Biopsychology, and Research Methods

• Facilitate analytical discussions, scientific evaluations, and structured A-Level essay writing

• Maintain a scholarly, focused classroom atmosphere suitable for Sixth Form and Key Stage 4 study

• Complete electronic attendance registers accurately at the start of each period

• Leave structured written feedback and handover notes for returning departmental staff

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK equivalent (ECTs, Experienced Teachers, and FE/HE lecturers with secondary experience welcome)

• Deep understanding of A-Level Psychology specifications (AQA, OCR, Edexcel) and research methodology evaluation
