Job Overview
Psychology is one of the most popular and rapidly growing A-Level subjects at this academy. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, intellectually stimulating Psychology instruction primarily across Key Stage 5 (A-Level), with potential contributions to Key Stage 4 Social Science introductory modules.
Working alongside experienced Social Science colleagues, you will teach key theoretical areas, including memory, attachment, psychopathology, social influence, biopsychology, and research methods. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for a practitioner dedicated to Sixth Form academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Teach high-impact A-Level Psychology lessons in line with exam board specifications (AQA/OCR)
Develop students' scientific inquiry, statistical analysis, and extended evaluative writing skills
Monitor, track, and assess student performance to ensure high attainment in A-Level examinations
Mentor Sixth Form pupils preparing university applications for Psychology, Neuroscience, and Criminology degrees
Lead co-curricular activities, such as Mind & Brain societies, journal clubs, and guest speaker events
Serve as a Sixth Form Tutor, delivering pastoral support, academic tracking, and UCAS references
Collaborate with faculty members to continuously enhance digital learning resources and revision workshops
Support the broader vision and daily operations of the Social Sciences department

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will feature:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
An honors degree in Psychology or a closely related scientific/social science discipline
Demonstrated track record (or strong potential during training) of securing high A-Level Psychology outcomes
Excellent understanding of psychological research methodologies and statistical analysis
Strong classroom management and Sixth Form academic mentoring skills
