A successful secondary school in St Neots is looking for an English Teacher to join its team.

This role would suit someone who enjoys teaching literature and language, likes classroom discussion and wants to help students develop skills they can use well beyond their exams.

The Role

• Teach English across KS3–KS5.

• Develop students' confidence in reading, writing and communication.

• Explore novels, poetry, drama and non-fiction with students.

• Teach students how to analyse texts and develop their own interpretations.

• Prepare GCSE and A-Level students for examinations.

• Encourage creative writing, wider reading and independent thinking.

• Use current issues, discussion and debate to make English feel relevant.

• Contribute to reading clubs, writing competitions and other enrichment activities.

• Create an encouraging classroom where students aren't afraid to make mistakes.

The Candidate

You'll have strong English subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching.

A degree in English or a related subject would be desirable, with GCSE and/or A-Level experience an advantage.

We're looking for someone who can explain things clearly, build good relationships with students and make lessons enjoyable without losing sight of high expectations.
