A good secondary school in Bury St Edmunds is looking for a Religious Education Teacher to join its department. The school is looking for someone who can make RE accessible, interesting and relevant to students of different abilities.
The Role
Deliver engaging RE lessons across KS3–KS5.
Teach students about different religions, beliefs and worldviews.
Explore ethical issues, philosophy and contemporary questions.
Develop students' ability to discuss and evaluate different viewpoints.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Religious Studies where required.
Help students develop strong written answers and effective exam technique.
Use current issues and real-life examples to bring topics into the classroom.
Support debates, clubs and other enrichment activities.
The Candidate
We're looking for someone with strong subject knowledge and a genuine interest in Religious Education.
A relevant degree and teaching qualification would be desirable, alongside experience teaching examination classes.
You should be able to create thoughtful discussions while making sure students feel comfortable expressing their views respectfully.
