This is a full-time, permanent role suited to an innovative, organized, and proactive educator.
Key Responsibilities
Teach high-quality, engaging Sociology lessons across Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level)
Plan, resource, and execute lessons that foster critical evaluation, sociological debate, and analytical essay writing
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, preparing Sixth Form students for A-Level examination success and university entry
Contribute to department enrichment initiatives, including Sociology societies, debate clubs, and external university lectures
Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and promote an ambitious, intellectually curious learning environment
Serve as a Form Tutor, contributing to the pastoral care, tracking, and overall wellbeing of your assigned year group
Collaborate with departmental colleagues to update schemes of work and exam preparation resources
Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Social Sciences department

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will feature:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
An honors degree in Sociology, Social Policy, or a closely related discipline
Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong GCSE and A-Level Sociology outcomes
Deep subject knowledge and the ability to stretch academically ambitious Sixth Form pupils
