Working closely with the Social Sciences faculty, you will design and deliver a dynamic curriculum covering social stratification, crime and deviance, research methods, and education. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to an innovative, highly organized, and proactive educator.
Key Responsibilities
Teach high-quality, engaging Sociology lessons across Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level)
Plan, resource, and execute lessons that foster critical evaluation, sociological debate, and analytical writing
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, preparing Sixth Form students for high-level A-Level examination success and university entry
Contribute to department enrichment initiatives, such as Sociology Society, debate clubs, and guest speaker events
Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and promote an ambitious, intellectually curious learning environment
Serve as a Form Tutor, contributing to the pastoral wellbeing and holistic development of students
Collaborate with department colleagues to refine schemes of work and exam preparation resources
Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Social Sciences department

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will feature:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
An honors degree in Sociology, Social Policy, or a closely related discipline
