We’re looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a good secondary school in Southend-on-Sea.

The school is looking for someone who enjoys English and wants to help students become confident readers, writers, and communicators.

The Role

  • Teach English across KS3–KS5.

  • Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons.

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level.

  • Help students develop their writing, reading, and analytical skills.

  • Encourage wider reading and discussion.

  • Get involved with clubs, trips, competitions, and other English activities.

The Candidate

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a relevant English degree and teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge.

  • Enjoys working with young people.

  • Can make English engaging and accessible.

  • Is confident teaching GCSE, with A-Level experience being useful.

  • Builds positive relationships and has high expectations of students.
