We’re looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Chelmsford.

This role is for an exceptional English Teacher who has high expectations of their students and wants to be part of a friendly and supportive department.

The Role

  • Teach English across KS3–KS5.

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across English Language and Literature.

  • Support students with their progress and exam preparation.

  • Encourage students to read widely and develop their writing and analytical skills.

  • Get involved in wider English activities, clubs, trips, or enrichment where possible.

  • Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards across the department.

The Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified to teach English and has strong subject knowledge.

  • Enthusiastic about working with secondary-aged students.

  • Confident teaching GCSE, with A-Level experience being an advantage.

  • Able to build good relationships with students.

  • Organised, reliable, and committed to helping students do well.

  • Passionate about English and able to make lessons interesting.
