Business Studies Teacher

You would be joining an established Business department where students are encouraged to understand how businesses operate and develop the analytical and decision-making skills needed for further education, apprenticeships and future employment.

The department delivers a practical and relevant curriculum covering areas such as marketing, finance, business operations, human resources, entrepreneurship and external influences on organisations. Students are encouraged to apply business theory to real companies and current economic developments, making lessons relevant to the world beyond school.

At GCSE, students develop a strong understanding of key business concepts while learning how to analyse case studies, interpret financial information and evaluate different business decisions. At A-Level, students are challenged to develop more sophisticated analytical and evaluative skills, preparing them for university-level study and careers in business, finance, management and related fields.

The department also provides enrichment through enterprise activities, business competitions, guest speakers, careers events and links with local employers. Students are encouraged to develop their own ideas and gain confidence when presenting and defending business decisions.

You will work within a collaborative team where teachers share resources, discuss assessment and contribute to curriculum development. The school supports staff through regular CPD, mentoring and opportunities for additional responsibility and career progression.

Business Studies Teacher - Experience and Qualifications

• Business Studies or related Degree

• QTS

• Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level

• Strong knowledge of GCSE Business

• A-Level Business experience desirable

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Excellent classroom management

• Commitment to student achievement and inclusion

Salary

The salary for this Business Studies Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS.
