Chemistry Teacher
You would be joining a successful Science department where Chemistry is taught through a combination of strong subject knowledge, practical investigation and real-world application. The department is committed to developing students who are confident with scientific concepts and able to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar problems.
At Key Stage 3, students build a secure foundation in chemical reactions, particles, materials and the wider principles of science. At GCSE, the curriculum develops this knowledge through areas including atomic structure, bonding, quantitative chemistry, chemical changes, energy changes, organic chemistry and chemical analysis.
For students studying A-Level Chemistry, there is a strong focus on independent thinking, practical investigation and preparing students for further study in Chemistry, Medicine, Engineering and related disciplines.
The department benefits from well-equipped laboratories and strong technical support, allowing students to experience regular practical work alongside their theoretical studies. Students are also encouraged to take part in STEM activities, science competitions, university outreach and enrichment opportunities.
You will work alongside experienced teachers within a collaborative department where planning, assessment and resources are shared. The School provides a supportive environment with excellent CPD, mentoring and opportunities for teachers to take on additional responsibilities as their experience develops.

Chemistry Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Chemistry Degree
QTS
Experience teaching Chemistry at secondary level
Strong practical and theoretical subject knowledge
GCSE Chemistry experience essential
A-Level Chemistry experience desirable
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Commitment to student achievement and inclusion
Salary
The salary for this Chemistry Teacher position will be paid to scale on a contract to scale MPS/UPS.
