Music Teacher Role in a Good Secondary School
A Good Secondary School in Southend is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative Music Teacher to join its successful Performing Arts department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Music across KS3, KS4, and KS5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students' theoretical knowledge, practical skills, confidence, and appreciation of a wide range of musical styles.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to an ambitious curriculum incorporating composition, performance, listening, and music technology. The role will also involve supporting extracurricular activities, concerts, ensembles, and performances throughout the academic year.

Key Responsibilities
Teach Music across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Develop students' performance, composition, and listening skills
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Organise and support concerts, performances, and musical events
Encourage participation in ensembles and extracurricular activities
Create an inclusive and inspiring learning environment

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Music at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong practical and theoretical music knowledge
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Ability to inspire students with different levels of musical experience
Desirable
Ability to teach Music at KS5
Experience delivering GCSE and A-Level Music
Ability to support ensembles, choirs, concerts, or performances
Experience with music technology and digital composition
A passion for developing students' musical confidence
