Our client is seeking an articulate, academically driven History & Politics Teacher to join their celebrated humanities department from September. In this full-time post, you will deliver engaging, source-rich lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE History), alongside specialized thematic modules for A-Level History and A-Level Politics.

You will guide students through diverse and challenging historical periods—spanning from the Tudor Rebellions and the British Empire to Weimar and Nazi Germany, the Cold War, and modern geopolitical frameworks. The department places a strong emphasis on primary source evaluation, historical empathy, structural essay-writing mechanics, and rigorous academic debate. You will teach in modern, well-resourced seminar rooms equipped with digital archives, extensive library access, and interactive displays, with opportunities to lead residential trips to the WW1 Battlefields and Berlin.

Qualifications & Criteria

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)

  • An honors degree in History, Politics, International Relations, or a closely related humanities discipline

  • Deep subject knowledge with the capability to deliver both History and Politics up to A-Level standard

  • Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering outstanding GCSE and A-Level exam outcomes

  • Passion for coordinating historical field trips, debate clubs, and extra-curricular academic enrichment
