Our client is seeking an experienced School Business Manager (SBM) to join their senior leadership team from September. In this pivotal non-teaching post, you will serve as the strategic lead for all business functions, ensuring maximum resource efficiency and full compliance across every operational department.
Your key duties will involve developing short- and long-term budget models, managing monthly ledger reconciliations, leading internal and external audits, and procuring cost-effective service contracts. You will also oversee capital development projects, ensure strict adherence to health & safety and COSHH regulations, direct the school’s administrative and premises staff, and manage HR compliance—including payroll verification, recruitment protocols, and Single Central Record (SCR) maintenance.

Experience and Qualifications
Diploma in School Business Management (DSBM/CSBM/Level 4+) or a relevant degree in Finance, Business Management, or Accounting

Strong operational knowledge of educational finance software (such as Access Education, SIMS FMS, or PS Financials), KCSIE safeguarding compliance, and health & safety standards
Excellent communication, financial reporting, and negotiation capabilities, with a proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
