Building strong relationships with families can transform a child's education. An Outstanding primary school in Wokingham is looking to appoint a dedicated Attendance & Family Liaison Officer to join its pastoral support team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

As a key member of the school's pastoral team, you'll help ensure every pupil is given the best possible opportunity to thrive by promoting positive attendance and strengthening home-school relationships.

The Role
Working closely with the Headteacher and pastoral team, you'll help develop a positive culture around attendance while providing support to pupils and their families.
Responsibilities include:
Monitoring attendance and following up on pupil absences
Building positive relationships with parents and carers to improve attendance and punctuality
Supporting children and families where barriers to attendance have been identified
Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school's MIS
Working alongside safeguarding and pastoral staff to provide appropriate support
Liaising with external agencies where required
Producing attendance reports and contributing to attendance improvement initiatives

About You

Previous experience in attendance, family liaison, pastoral support, education or school administration would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be confident building relationships, handling sensitive situations professionally and working collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
