A high-performing secondary school in Newbury is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Attendance Officer to join its support staff team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

Your Responsibilities
As Attendance Officer, you'll coordinate the school's attendance procedures and provide proactive support to improve attendance across all year groups.
Your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring daily attendance and following up on unexplained absences
Identifying attendance trends and preparing reports for senior leaders
Working with students and families to improve attendance and punctuality
Supporting attendance meetings and intervention plans
Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school's MIS
Liaising with external agencies where additional support is required
Ensuring attendance processes comply with statutory guidance
