Design & Technology Teacher Role in a Good Secondary School
A Good Secondary School in Telford is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative Design & Technology Teacher to join its successful DT department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Design & Technology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering high-quality practical and theory lessons that encourage creativity, technical understanding, and problem-solving.
Students follow a broad curriculum that includes Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, and the use of CAD/CAM technologies where appropriate. You will inspire learners to design, create, evaluate, and refine products while developing valuable practical skills and an understanding of modern manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities
Teach Design & Technology across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Promote safe working practices within specialist workshops
Assess student progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support STEM initiatives and Design & Technology enrichment activities
Encourage creativity, innovation, and technical excellence

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong practical and theoretical subject knowledge
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Ability to teach a DT specialism at KS5
Experience using CAD/CAM technologies and modern workshop equipment
Commitment to STEM enrichment and extracurricular activities
A passion for inspiring young people through practical learning
