An Outstanding Independent School in Windsor is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join its leadership team from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will lead the strategic development and day-to-day management of the school's SEND provision, ensuring pupils with additional needs receive personalised support that enables them to flourish.
Working closely with the Headteacher, senior leaders, teachers, parents, and external professionals, you will coordinate interventions, oversee Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), monitor student progress, and provide expert guidance on inclusive teaching practices across the school.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SENCO or an ambitious teacher with the National Award for SEN Coordination who is passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the school's SEND provision
Coordinate support for pupils with a range of additional needs
Oversee EHCPs, annual reviews, and statutory processes
Support teachers in delivering high-quality inclusive practice
Liaise with parents, external agencies, and specialist professionals
Monitor progress and evaluate intervention programmes
Deliver staff training and promote inclusive teaching strategies
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding requirements

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it where applicable)
Experience supporting pupils with SEND
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Desirable
Previous experience as a SENCO
Experience managing EHCPs and multi-agency partnerships
Proven success in improving outcomes for pupils with SEND
Experience delivering staff training and leading whole-school inclusion initiatives
