Hospitality & Catering Teacher Role in an Exceptional Secondary School
An Exceptional Secondary School in Liverpool is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Hospitality & Catering Teacher to join its thriving Design and Technology department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver Hospitality & Catering lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, helping students develop practical culinary skills alongside a strong understanding of nutrition, food safety, menu planning, and the hospitality industry.
Lessons should inspire creativity, confidence, and teamwork while preparing students for GCSE and vocational qualifications. The department also offers a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including catering events, enterprise projects, cooking competitions, and links with local hospitality businesses.
Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers who are passionate about delivering engaging, industry-focused lessons.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Hospitality & Catering across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and vocational qualifications
Maintain a safe, organised, and fully compliant kitchen environment
Assess student progress and provide effective feedback
Support curriculum planning and departmental development
Lead or contribute to extracurricular cooking and enterprise activities
Inspire students to explore careers within hospitality and catering

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Hospitality & Catering or Food Technology at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong practical and theoretical subject knowledge
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching KS5 or vocational Hospitality & Catering qualifications
Industry experience within hospitality or catering
Experience leading enrichment activities or catering events
A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
