HR Manager | Outstanding Secondary School | Watford
A high-performing secondary school in Watford is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join its leadership support team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the school's HR function within a forward-thinking environment that places people at the heart of its success. Working closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager, and Senior Leadership Team, you'll help shape workforce strategy while delivering an outstanding HR service that supports staff wellbeing, engagement, and professional development.
The Role
You'll oversee all aspects of Human Resources, ensuring effective HR operations while supporting the school's long-term strategic objectives.
Responsibilities include:
Leading recruitment and safer recruitment processes
Managing employee relations, absence, disciplinary, grievance, and capability matters
Advising senior leaders on employment law and HR best practice
Managing HR systems, contracts, and personnel records
Supporting workforce planning and organisational development
Driving staff wellbeing and retention initiatives
Reviewing HR policies and ensuring legislative compliance
