Site Manager | Outstanding Primary School | Birmingham
A successful primary academy in Birmingham is seeking a proactive Site Manager to join the school on a full-time, permanent basis with an ASAP start.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a busy primary school site, ensuring the premises remain safe, secure, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors. Working closely with the School Business Manager and Headteacher, you'll oversee the daily operation of the site while supporting ongoing improvement projects throughout the year.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the effective management of the school's buildings and grounds, ensuring all facilities are well maintained and fully compliant.
Key responsibilities include:
Opening and securing the school each day
Carrying out planned maintenance and minor repairs
Coordinating contractors and monitoring maintenance projects
Completing statutory Health & Safety, fire safety, asbestos, and legionella compliance checks
Maintaining premises records and ensuring compliance documentation is up to date
Overseeing the cleanliness, security, and presentation of the school site
Preparing rooms and communal areas for school events and meetings
Reporting maintenance issues and supporting long-term premises improvement plans

This primary academy provides education for pupils aged 4–11 and is known for its supportive leadership team and welcoming atmosphere. The school places great importance on providing a safe, well-maintained environment where children can learn, grow, and succeed.
The Successful Candidate
Applications are welcomed from experienced Site Managers, Premises Managers, Caretakers, Facilities Officers, Estates Officers, or candidates with relevant building maintenance experience.
You'll have strong practical maintenance skills, a sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations, and the ability to manage contractors while working independently to maintain high standards across the site.
