Site Manager | Community Primary School | Birmingham
A welcoming community primary school in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Site Manager on a full-time, permanent basis with an ASAP start.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced premises professional to become part of a supportive school where you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented environment for pupils aged 4–11. The successful candidate will take pride in ensuring the school site is maintained to the highest standard and remains fully compliant throughout the year.
The Role
Reporting to the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day management of the school premises and grounds.
Your responsibilities will include:
Opening and securing the school each day
Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
Managing contractors and monitoring site works
Completing statutory Health & Safety, fire safety, asbestos, and legionella compliance checks
Maintaining site records and compliance documentation
Inspecting the building, playgrounds, and outdoor areas to ensure they remain safe and well maintained
Setting up halls and classrooms for assemblies, events, and school activities
Supporting ongoing site improvement projects throughout the year

The Successful Candidate
Applications are welcomed from experienced Site Managers, Premises Managers, Caretakers, Facilities Officers, Estates Assistants, or candidates with a strong background in building maintenance or facilities management.
You'll be practical, organised, and able to work independently, with a good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and experience maintaining buildings and grounds to a high standard.
