A well-established Secondary School in Oxford is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Art Technician to join its successful Creative Arts department. This is an exciting opportunity to support a thriving Art faculty where students are encouraged to develop their creativity through a broad and engaging curriculum.
Working alongside experienced Art teachers, you will prepare specialist materials, maintain equipment and ensure practical lessons run smoothly. You will play an important role in helping students produce high-quality artwork while ensuring the department remains organised, safe and fully equipped.

Art Department
The Art department is a vibrant, inspiring space where creativity flourishes and students are encouraged to explore a wide range of artistic techniques. The department benefits from spacious studios, ceramics facilities, printmaking equipment and excellent digital resources, enabling students to produce work of an exceptionally high standard.
Responsibilities
Preparing materials for practical Art lessons.
Maintaining specialist Art equipment.
Organising stock and ordering resources.
Supporting teachers during practical sessions.
Preparing displays of student work.
Maintaining safe working environments.
Assisting with GCSE and A-Level coursework preparation.
Cleaning and maintaining studios.
Supporting exhibitions and enrichment activities.
Carrying out regular equipment checks.
Maintaining departmental inventories.
Preparing demonstration materials.
Supporting lunchtime Art clubs.
Following health and safety procedures.
Providing administrative support to the department.
Requirements
Experience working within an Art department or creative environment is desirable.
Excellent organisational skills.
Good practical artistic ability.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Good IT skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Positive and proactive attitude.
Commitment to safeguarding.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
