We are looking for a skilled, organised and enthusiastic DT Technician to join a welcoming community school in Southampton this September.

The Design & Technology department is well-equipped and plays a key role in delivering practical, engaging lessons across a range of disciplines. Working alongside experienced teaching staff, you will provide technical support that enables students to develop practical skills safely and confidently.
The role will involve:
Preparing materials, tools, machinery and equipment for practical Design & Technology lessons.
Maintaining workshops, classrooms and storage areas to a high standard, ensuring they remain organised, safe and fully stocked.
Carrying out routine maintenance, cleaning and basic repairs of tools, machinery and equipment.
Monitoring stock levels, ordering materials and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Supporting teachers during practical lessons and demonstrations where required.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, COSHH requirements and departmental risk assessments.
Assisting with the preparation of displays, projects, school events and extracurricular activities within the Design & Technology department.
Supporting the wider school community by contributing to a positive, safe and engaging learning environment.
We are looking for someone who:
Has practical workshop or technical experience, ideally within a school or educational setting.
Has a good understanding of health and safety procedures within a Design & Technology environment.
Is organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Enjoys working collaboratively and building positive relationships with staff and students.
Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Is committed to supporting students' learning and contributing to the wider life of the school.
