Premises Manager to lead the campus premises, maintenance, and compliance teams
Full-time, year-round permanent role | September start
Our client is seeking a professional, practically minded, and highly organized Premises Manager to take full strategic and operational control of their school estate from September. This is a full-time, year-round leadership position, ideal for an estates supervisor or senior building services professional with a proven track record of team coordination and safety management.
The successful candidate will manage the caretaking team's shift cycles, coordinate external maintenance contractors, track utility consumption metrics, and execute a comprehensive planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule. You will take direct accountability for keeping immaculate, legally compliant statutory testing logs—including water safety tests (Legionella prevention), fire door integrity audits, emergency lighting diagnostics, and physical site security checks.
The premises department operates out of a dedicated facility workshop and benefits from modern asset management software and a supportive business management structure.

Experience and Qualifications
Proven experience in an estates supervisor, site manager, or facilities leadership role within a school or public sector environment
Deep working knowledge of current health and safety legislation, COSHH guidelines, and building compliance frameworks
Strong IT literacy, with confidence using digital helpdesk platforms and facilities asset tracking databases
A background or qualification in a specialized trade (such as electrical, plumbing, or carpentry) is highly advantageous
