CORE PURPOSE

We require an English Teacher to deliver the English Language and English Literature curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role involves planning and delivering lessons that develop students' reading, writing, and analytical skills, while fully preparing exam cohorts for GCSE English specifications.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS

• Lesson Delivery: Plan and teach English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 for all ability levels.

• Skill Development: Teach textual analysis, essay structures, and spelling, punctuation, and grammar (SPAG) to build student accuracy in written and spoken English.

• GCSE Preparation: Prepare Year 11 classes for GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature papers, tracking progress and addressing learning gaps.

• Differentiated Support: Adapt resources and provide structured scaffolding to ensure accessibility for SEND and EAL pupils while challenging higher attainers.

• Form Tutor Duties: Take responsibility for a tutor group, managing registration, daily routines, and parent contact.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English Literature, English Language, or a related humanities discipline.

• Experience: Open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a track record of stable progress metrics.

• Skills: Clear communication, strong classroom management, and an approachable manner.
