CORE PURPOSE
We require a Maths Teacher to deliver the Mathematics curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role involves planning and delivering lessons that build quantitative fluency, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills, while fully preparing exam cohorts for GCSE Mathematics specifications.
THE SCHOOL
An 11–16 secondary school located in Southampton. The school operates with a centralized behaviour system managed by the senior leadership team to maintain quiet, focused classrooms. The Mathematics department is highly collaborative, sharing all schemes of work, lesson structures, and resources to manage staff workload. A realistic feedback policy is in place to minimize out-of-hours marking.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Lesson Delivery: Plan and teach mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 for all ability levels.
Skill Development: Teach algebraic, geometric, and statistical concepts clearly to build student accuracy and numerical fluency.
GCSE Preparation: Prepare Year 11 classes for both Foundation and Higher GCSE papers, tracking progress and addressing learning gaps.
Differentiated Support: Adapt resources and provide structured scaffolding to ensure accessibility for SEND pupils while challenging higher attainers.
Form Tutor Duties: Take responsibility for a tutor group, managing registration, daily routines, and parent contact.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
Experience: Open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a track record of stable progress metrics.
Skills: Clear communication, strong classroom management, and an approachable manner.
