A well-established Secondary School in Leeds is seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to oversee the management of its buildings, grounds and facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a facilities professional who enjoys leading a team while ensuring students and staff benefit from a safe, secure and well-maintained learning environment.
Working closely with the School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team, you will manage the day-to-day operation of the school site, oversee planned and reactive maintenance and ensure all statutory compliance requirements are met. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards across the school estate while supporting future improvement projects.

Premises Team
The Premises Team ensures the school site remains safe, compliant and fully operational throughout the year.
Responsibilities
Managing the daily operation of the school site.
Leading the premises and cleaning teams.
Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance.
Managing external contractors and service providers.
Conducting regular site inspections.
Overseeing health and safety compliance.
Monitoring fire safety systems and emergency procedures.
Managing maintenance budgets.
Maintaining statutory compliance records.
Preparing facilities for school events.
Monitoring site security and access arrangements.
Supporting future site improvement projects.
Ensuring all buildings remain well maintained.
Responding to emergency maintenance issues.
Reporting directly to the School Business Manager.
Requirements
Previous premises or facilities management experience.
Experience supervising staff and contractors.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Good practical maintenance knowledge.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to manage budgets and competing priorities.
Professional and proactive approach.
