Attendance Officer to join an active pastoral and inclusion support team
Full-time role (Term-Time Only) | September start
Our client is seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking Attendance Officer to join their dedicated student services team from September. This is a full-time, term-time-only position, ideal for an organized professional with outstanding communication skills and a clear focus on student welfare, data accuracy, and proactive intervention.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day monitoring of daily registers, identify patterns of absence, and conduct phone runs to verify student locations. You will work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads, and external local authority welfare officers to design targeted supportive strategies for families experiencing barriers to regular school attendance, maintaining meticulous records on the school's central database.

Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience in a school attendance, pastoral support, or clerical role involving family liaison
High level of IT literacy, with complete confidence utilizing school management databases (such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom)
Outstanding communication skills, with a professional, empathetic, and resilient approach to challenging conversations
Strong working knowledge of local authority attendance protocols and school safeguarding guidelines
