Maths Teacher Role in a Successful 11–18 School
A successful 11–18 School in Sheffield is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious Maths Teacher to join its thriving Mathematics department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students' confidence, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Students follow a broad curriculum including algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, mechanics, and calculus. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations while fostering resilience, logical thinking, and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through intervention programmes, maths clubs, enrichment activities, UK Mathematics Trust competitions, and STEM initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging and well-planned lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations
Develop students' reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support maths enrichment and extracurricular activities
Inspire students to develop confidence and enjoyment in Mathematics

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level or Further Mathematics
Experience supporting maths competitions or enrichment programmes
Ability to stretch and challenge students of all abilities
A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
