An inclusive Secondary School in Hertford is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Spanish Teacher to join its successful Modern Foreign Languages department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Students follow a dynamic curriculum that explores the language, culture, and traditions of the Spanish-speaking world. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations while fostering confidence, cultural awareness, and a genuine enthusiasm for languages.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through language clubs, cultural celebrations, educational visits, exchange opportunities, and enrichment activities that bring language learning to life.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Spanish across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging and well-structured language lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations
Develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
Ability to inspire students of all abilities
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
Ability to teach a second Modern Foreign Language
Experience organising language trips or cultural events
A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
