A well-established Secondary School in Darlington is looking to appoint a reliable and proactive Site Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation of the school site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced premises professional who takes pride in maintaining safe, secure and welcoming facilities for students, staff and visitors.

Working closely with the Premises Manager and School Business Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the school buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard while supporting the smooth running of the school throughout the academic year. The role is varied and hands-on, requiring excellent organisational skills, practical maintenance knowledge and a commitment to providing an outstanding learning environment.

Site Team

The Site Team plays a vital role in ensuring the school remains safe, secure and fully operational every day.

Responsibilities include:

• Opening and securing the school site each day.

• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.

• Conducting regular health and safety inspections.

• Monitoring contractors working on site.

• Preparing classrooms and halls for school events.

• Ensuring heating, lighting and security systems operate effectively.

• Carrying out daily site inspections.

• Maintaining outdoor areas and pathways.

• Responding promptly to maintenance requests.

• Supporting emergency evacuation procedures.

• Monitoring fire safety equipment.

• Assisting with deliveries and site logistics.

• Completing maintenance records.

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.

• Supporting the Premises Manager with planned maintenance projects.
