Our client is seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking Head of Mathematics to join an established independent school in Southampton from September. This is a full-time leadership position, ideal for a strong practitioner with proven departmental impact and a clear vision for curriculum development.

The successful candidate will lead the strategic development of Mathematics across KS3 & KS4, with strong KS5 provision. You will oversee curriculum planning, assessment and data analysis, staff development, and quality assurance, ensuring consistently high standards across pure mathematics, statistics, and mechanics.

The Mathematics department benefits from modern classrooms, small class sizes, excellent administrative support, and a collaborative team of subject specialists. Senior leadership is highly supportive and values subject expertise, innovation, and professional growth.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)

  • Strong subject knowledge across Mathematics with the ability to teach to KS5

  • Proven leadership experience or readiness for a Head of Department role

  • Track record of raising attainment and supporting staff development
