About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons that inspire students and develop their scientific understanding.
Students follow a broad curriculum encompassing Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a strong emphasis on scientific enquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations while encouraging them to pursue further study and careers within STEM disciplines.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through STEM clubs, science competitions, enrichment programmes, educational visits, and practical workshops that bring science to life beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
Develop students' scientific enquiry and analytical skills
Plan and supervise practical investigations safely and effectively
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support STEM enrichment activities and extracurricular programmes

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science
Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Experience supporting STEM clubs or science enrichment activities
A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
