A successful secondary school in Wigan is seeking a creative and organised Art Technician to support its successful Art department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical artistic skills who enjoys helping students and teachers deliver engaging practical lessons.
Working closely with the Head of Art, you will prepare resources, maintain equipment and help create an inspiring learning environment where creativity can flourish.

Art Department
The Art department delivers an exciting curriculum across drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking and mixed media.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons.
Maintaining studios and preparation rooms.
Organising stock and ordering resources.
Maintaining specialist equipment.
Supporting teachers during practical sessions.
Displaying students' artwork.
Preparing GCSE and A-Level coursework resources.
Supporting exhibitions and enrichment events.
Maintaining health and safety standards.
Keeping departmental inventories updated.
Preparing classrooms for lessons.
Creating an organised and inspiring working environment.
Requirements
Previous experience within an Art department or creative environment.
Good practical artistic skills.
Excellent organisational abilities.
Knowledge of artistic materials and equipment.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Positive and proactive attitude.
Good attention to detail.
Commitment to safeguarding.
